Club Code of Conduct
This is the Code of Conduct for the Chelsea and Kensington Swimming Club.
RIGHTS:
- We all have the right to be treated with respect regardless of our age, class, gender, race, religion, sexual orientation or abilities.
- We have the right to express our ideas and opinions, at the appropriate time, provided
these do not cause undue offence to other members of the Club. - We have the right to swim in a safe environment and receive good swimming instruction.
- Teachers, Coaches, Swimmers and parents should seek to co-operate with one another.
- We can expect our property and our swimming environment to be treated with care and respect.
- Swimmers have the right to be treated reasonably, in accordance with their growing maturity.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- We should treat other people, their opinions and property with the respect we wish to receive ourselves.
- We all share responsibility for the quality of our swimming environment.
- We should arrive at lessons/sessions punctually, properly equipped and ready to swim.
- Teachers/Coaches, during session times and other Club activities have the responsibility to exercise reasonable control over swimmers behaviour.
- We should at all times behave in such a way that we do not hinder other swimmers' work or their opportunities to learn.
Any persistent transgression of any of these rules will result in disciplinary action which may include suspension from club activities including competitions.
It is expected that all members of the Club, when attending training sessions and events shall:
- Comply with the codes, rules and laws within the guidelines set out by the ASA
- Behave without discrimination on the grounds of race, colour, language, religion, birth or social status as set out in the equal opportunities policy.
- Respect the basic human rights, worth and dignity of each member.
- Not encourage swimmers, volunteers, officials or parents to violate the rules of the club or the sport.
- Observe the authority and the decision of all officials.
- Encourage all swimmers to obey the spirit of the rules and laws both in and out of the pool.
- Treat other competitors and teams with respect, in victory and defeat.
