CKSC represented at the
London Winter Championships

2007's London Region Winter Championships were held (sadly) in the Barnet 25m pool rather than the usual 50m long course.
This is hardly surprising as London’s only effective 50m venue, Crystal Palace, has closed down for 9 months for essential health & safety related works.
For the second year running the organisers had (bizarrely) decided on a SINGLE entry time for ALL ages! This precluded many of our top swimmers from attending.
Our swimmers were India Matharu-Daley, Raymond Wade and Rob Allen-Mersh who made good account of themselves.
Raymond lowered his PB’s in all 3 freestyle events coming 12th in the 200m (2:09.48) and going 58.74 in the 100m and 26.64 in the 50m.
Unfortunately he could only manage 1:05.82 in his best event, the 100m fly for 12th place--well below his best.
A week later he stepped up to the same event in the Barnet 100’s Meet, in the same pool and recorded 1:03.84, a time which would have gained him a BRONZE in the London’s!
